Paul George was traded to the Thunder for Victor Oladipo, but nobody was sure if he’d stay past the year on his contract. However, George has recently stated that he is likely to stay in Oklahoma City. Apparently, Kevin Durant told Paul George that the place would blow him away, and that there is no organization better than the Thunder. Everything is first class.

George went on to say that if he feels he can win with the Thunder, then he’d be foolish to leave. His main mission is to win. He explained that NBA players only get a certain window to play while they are in their prime, and he wants to take full advantage of that window.

Rumors had been swirling about Paul George going to the Lakers next season, but after this interview, that path seems less likely. The Thunder organization will do everything in their power to put good pieces around their two stars. There’s not much more that Westbrook and George can ask for. Now they just need to win!

If George does stay, the Thunder will have been able to replace Durant without losing a step, and in a time when rebuilds are so popular, this is an amazing achievement. Paul George will be introduced at a press conference tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET. This will usher in a new era of basketball, and perhaps this team has what it takes to dethrone the reigning super-team in the West.
