There is always that one kid in class that’s shy, quiet, and barely speaks above a whisper. Even after leaving Duke, Brandon Ingram was still known as that guy.
It appears Ingram has turned a new leaf as he enters his second year with the Lakers, showing he’s ready to do what it takes to prove himself.
His teammate Lonzo Ball confirmed that when he recently spoke with Kurt Helin of NBC Sports.
“Brandon’s in the gym every day and works extremely hard. I didn’t know he’s as vocal as he is. He definitely talks a lot. Speaking for myself, I definitely appreciate it, everything he does for the team. Like I said he’s in there every day so we’re just getting to know each other more and more as the days go on and I look forward to playing with him this year.”
Ingram himself has said that he’s “trying to be a leader by example as well as vocally,” so it looks like the hard work is most certainly paying off.
Magic Johnson has also said that he’d like to see a strong leader emerge from the team. Ingram is shaping up to be just the right person for the job.
