The New England Patriots have become the first NFL team to buy their own plane, which they will use to fly to their football games.
ESPN stated that the team bought two 767 Boeing wide-body jets during this offseason and put in new first-class seats. Some of the seats recline all the way back! The planes themselves cost between $5-$65 million, and can fly nonstop without refueling for up to 12 hours. One plane will be used for the duration of the season and the other one will be for backup.
The rising cost of chartering flights for NFL teams forced the team to think about purchasing a plane themselves, and they seem to be pretty happy with the decision so far. The planes will be available to rent during the season whenever the team isn’t using them. Sign us up.
