There has been a lot of speculation about whether or not the NBA champs will visit the White House, but recently, a report has confirmed that suspicion. During the season, Shaun Livingston, Steve Kerr, Stephen Curry, and David West have all voiced strong opinions against the sitting president, with Livingston confirming that he would not attend.

Visiting the sitting president has always been a tradition for champions, but recently, it’s become a tough decision for athletes. Do they try to respect the office or do they try to stand up against the policies of the current president? Most teams so far have decided on the former, but the Warriors may prove to be an exception.

So far, the Patriots and the Clemson Tigers have both visited the White House, despite rumors that they may not. However, the NBA tends to have more social activism than other leagues. Regardless, the decision will be very interesting.

Frankly, this is not an easy decision either way, since the athletes will undoubtedly take some heat, regardless of their decision. There is one thing that we can be sure about, however. President Trump will almost certainly provide a calm, intelligent, and measured response, no matter what they decide.
